How to get persperation smells out of clothes?
All the references I have tell me how to get persperation
STAINS out of clothes but not the smell. I have shirts and suit jackets that are a bit wiffy and I don’t feel I can wear them any more. I have tried dry cleaning, lots of steam, “fabreeze”, they all reduce the smell a bit but don’t get rid of it. Is there any hope for my clothes?!?
Thanks bean, that’s great for the shirts. Any ideas for the suit jackets?

Soak them in warm water overnight (of course the water will get colder, but starting out warm or mildly hot is good to loosen up the fabric).
The next day, wash them in a washing machine in a cold cycle,
I do that with my clothes after a workout and it’s always worked.

I find that soap powders work better than the liquid soaps. I dissolve the powder in hot water and add it in that way.
Tide, or use 20 Mule Team Borax to ‘sweeten’ the smell of your laundry.

You will have to get a bar of washing soap like linda, sunlight, zote, fels naptha or you can just try regular bathing soap and rub the pit stains with it and then wash as usual. Add some vinegar to the rinse cycle to help neutralize lingering odors and to retain the color of your clothes. Don’t worry vinegar smell goes away! Also you can rub a half of a lemon onto the pit stains as well. Will get it right out!
