What is that fibrous sponge that is part of the wiring panel for a sconce light fixture?
I am referring to the cushioning between the actual glass dome covering and the panel where the outlet for the light bulbs and wiring are. Every time I touch it, it itches all over my body, I assume the fibrous hairs come off easily even when shaken lightly.
What type of material is it? is it a plastic or a organic material?

It’s a small piece of fiberglass insulation.
