How do I retrieve a fitted sheet that got stuck in a laundry chute?
I live in a two story apartment that happens to have laundry chutes. Last week, I threw a fitted sheet in the laundry chute and it didnt go all the way down into the basement.
How do I retrieve the item i need to wash?
The laundry chute is not round; infact, a newborn baby can get stuck in it, it’s that thin. You think maybe water could do the trick? Remember, I live in a 2 story apartment, and i’m on the second floor, the laundry room is in the basement.

trythis take a large trash bag fill it with a pillow place someone down stairs by the chute drop the inflated bag with a rope knoted into the top down the chute the accomplice grabs the rope and the two of you whip it around if the sheet doesnt drop then drag the airfilled bag back up and then drop it again ,,

Would it work, maybe, if you were to put a baseball sized stone down the chute? Wouldn’t hurt to try!

Keep throwing your dirty clothes down it. It will come loose sooner or later.

I would try a pole of some type from the bottom or top depending upon where the rascal is lodged. Failing that you might consider some type of object with weight (a box with a few books, etc). I believe water would just pass through the sheet and make a mess, try to stick with solids.

Can you see where it is hung up? Try a broom handle, or a reg broom or a long piece of wire.
