does anyone know why a microwave ceiling would start to implode while cooking?

I gave my friend a microwave it was fine, her slightly autistic neice used it and now the top on the inside is buckled. But the th neice says nothing strange was cooked in it. I think maybe she used metal as means for holding food to be cooked. Anyone have any thoughts?

    the only way the top will buckle is if metal was put inside the microwave.I have blown up two just trying to see if it would blow up.and once with metal pan the next with a spike for the BBQ.I was trying to make that kabob stuff.

    not sure but if in dought replace it …………I wouldn’t use it anymore be safe and go to the store and get a new one they don’t cost that much nowadays

    Something metal was definitely put in there. It could even be something as simple as aluminum foil, or even a utensil like a spoon or fork.
